Salvatore Ferragamo, birth of the brand

Born in 1898, Salvatore Ferragamo became famous for his innovative shoe designs. His passion for creating elegant, comfortable shoes led him to develop revolutionary techniques and materials. In particular, the wedge heel and the use of unusual materials such as cork and raffia. His designs have earned him a solid reputation, particularly in the film industry, where he has put shoes on stars such as Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe.

Over time, Ferragamo has extended its brand to a wide range of products, including shoes, handbags, clothing and accessories, continuing Ferragamo's heritage of style, innovation and Italian craftsmanship

Maximilian Davis

The 26-year-old British designer Maximilian Davis is an emerging talent in the fashion industry. He is particularly renowned for his work as a tailor, and has also worked as a stylist at Grace Wales Bonner and launched his eponymous label.

Now he is making his debut at Ferragamo, bringing a fresh eye and innovative designs to the brand while deeply respecting the house's heritage.

The Ferragamo Spring/Summer 2023 show is a masterpiece by Maximilian Davis and a tribute to the original vision of Salvatore Ferragamo.

The collection takes a fresh look at Hollywood glamour and is inspired by the iconic pair of red shoes created by Salvatore Ferragamo for Marilyn Monroe in the film Men Prefer Blondes. This defining moment in the brand's history is the inspiration for the collection's key colour: a new shade of Ferragamo red, specially designed by Pantone.
